Alumni

Graduates of Carroll Center programs have the opportunity to become active in the Carroll Center Alumni organization, which include social activities, fundraising, recreation activities and participation in public education, public speaking and advocacy for the blindness community. Each year the Alumni organization hosts several social events on the campus of the Carroll Center.

Alumni have been very effective in speaking to state legislators to support funding for the blind community and at informing them of the needs, value and the benefits of services in order for legislators to make informed decisions.

The Alumni leadership committee consists of Mike Rosen, Chairman; Jini Fairley, Brian Mahoney, Beverly King, Annie Smith, Shirley Battle, who meet regularly to discuss activities that support the mission of the Carroll Center and to generate interest in Alumni activities. There is also a Alumni Group in Oklahoma. The staff liaison for the Alumni is Dina Rosenbaum, who publishes the Alumni Newsletter and assists the Alumni in coordinating meetings and activities.
