26th Annual Carroll Awards - Call for Nominations

April 30, 2008

Nominate an outstanding blind employee

The Carroll Center for the Blind and the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind are pleased to announce the opening of the 2008 Carroll Awards campaign, which will recognize outstanding blind or visually impaired employees in the workforce throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This year’s Carroll Awards will mark the 26th season.

The Carroll Awards recognize blind and visually impaired employees who have made significant contributions to their organizations through outstanding ability and job performance. They are respected by management and colleagues and demonstrate the potential contribution to the work force that can be made by the worker who happens to be blind or visually impaired.

Each year, a small select group of individuals from throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are admitted into the Carroll Society, based on achievement and merit as valued employees. Carroll Society members become eligible, in future years, for nomination for the Thomas J. Carroll Award for Employment as the “Blind Employee of the Year.”

If you know of a blind or visually impaired person who demonstrates the highest degree of excellence as an employee or is successfully self-employed, we invite you to nominate him/her to be recognized through the Carroll Awards. Nominations may come from any source but must be confirmed and approved by the candidate’s employer.

How to nominate an individual

Nominations can be submitted online. Alternatively, you may download nominee criteria and submission guidelines and the application. The completed application can be mailed in.

All nominations must be received before April 30, 2008. Candidates selected will be honored at a ceremony to be held in May.
